Manage your SWIFT routing table securely with ART

Five billion financial messages per year are transported through the SWIFT platform

Managing a SWIFT routing table in a production environment is a delicate task. During the daily manipulations performed on them, uncontrolled impacts can disrupt the expected behavior of the routing system. Talan has developed its own software solution for this situation: ART - Alliance Routing Tool.

An efficient solution to maintain and upgrade SWIFT routing tables.

ART allows you to test your routing configuration before going into production. We have developed this solution, unique on the market, to help banks to easily manipulate their routing configurations without directly impacting production flows. It can be used in parallel with SWIFT projects, such as:

  • centralization of BICs on SWIFT Hubs;
  • the rationalization of SWIFT platforms during bank mergers, CBT migrations (e.g. SAA or AMH migration projects), anti-money laundering filtering configurations or more generally during daily manipulations.

An ergonomic tool designed for operational teams in charge of the SWIFT routing environment

ART simplifies the daily life of SWIFT Business analysts and operators:

  • Provides an overview of your SWIFT routing tables.
  • Simulates the routing of your messages in a comprehensive way.
  • Supports FIN messages (MT), but also all XML messages (MX).
  • Allows easy navigation on your routing tables thanks to dynamic search criteria on routing points, schemas or keywords associated to rules.
  • Provides error identification functionality on routing rules and offers validation of rules' non-regression.

Simulate routing tables

ART has a powerful simulator that allows operators to test their routing tables and simulate with high volume production messages - several million MT and MX messages in a few hours!

  • By analyzing all the fields of a message, including the header information, the result shows the routing path of each message, the associated routing code and the number of rules that were evaluated.
  • The simulation results can also be compared to ensure that the expected results are correct. It shows the differences between two simulation sets run on different configurations and routing table states.
  • An export function allows SAA, AMH or other middleware administrators to generate configurations from ART, thereby reducing the risk of errors when handling routing tables in a production environment.

ART contributes to the mitigation of operational risks on your SWIFT infrastructures by providing a useful tool to test all components and rules of your routing tables.
