How Microsoft's Power Platform implementation addressed supply chain digitalisation and process optimisation challenges
CONTEXT: A strong need to optimise the product portfolio management process and its lifecycle management tracking.
The creation of new product references within the product portfolio follows a complex, collaborative process involving multiple organisational functions (Commercial, Regulatory, Finance, Supply Chain...). Validating this creation process requires a tedious chain of information input of various types and approvals. The validation and creation processing time can therefore be lengthy. In 2022, Sanofi launched the 'CREA-DIS' project to improve the efficiency (time, quality, collaboration) of this business process and automate low value-added activities. To achieve this, Sanofi called upon Talan's expertise.
THE MISSION: Selection of a technological solution adapted to the company's needs, business acculturation and application deployment
Once the Power Platform solution was selected, Talan supported the teams in implementing the native functionalities offered by Microsoft's suite modules (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI for reporting, SharePoint Online and Teams for workflow tracking), their configuration and customisation.
To support the client, Talan's experts managed the project in several stages:
- Selection of a technological platform meeting Sanofi's needs: Microsoft's Power Platform suite
- Presentation and acculturation of Power Platform's low-code solution benefits
- Collection and formalisation of business requirements
- Development, testing and deployment of the solution (all in 10 days!)
- Skills transfer to make teams autonomous
What were the client benefits? Optimised processes that were more reliable and controlled, appreciated by teams.
- Effective deployment across all services involved in this process
- Time savings: reduced process duration
- Enhanced reliability and process visibility. Monitoring and reporting via Power BI
- Business autonomy: through the chosen technical solution. The low-code solution facilitates the implementation of MVP (Most Valuable Product) applications for business teams.
