THE EUROPEAN CLOUD: MAJOR CHALLENGES FOR EUROPE AND FIVE SCENARIOS WITH MAJOR IMPACTS BY 2027-2030

In order to better understand the challenges of the European Cloud for companies, Talan co-commissioned KPMG to write a white paper. Complete the form below to download it and be put in touch with our cloud experts.

Data sovereignty and European cloud: challenges and prospects

The European Cloud market is a very high-potential market that is expected to reach up to €260 billion by 2027 and more than €500 billion by 2030. This market, which covers a large part of the IT and technological needs of companies, represents challenges for Europe, an economic, social and political point of view.

It is with the aim of clarifying these various issues, which are insufficiently understood to date in Europe, that Talan co-commissioned KPMG to draft a White Paper on the future of the European cloud, organised around the following 5 themes:

  • What does the European cloud market represent (size, segments, players involved)?
  • What are the main motivations that encourage cloud migration? and what are the associated obstacles and constraints?
  • What is the current legal and regulatory framework for this contract?
  • What is the future of the European cloud (formulated around 5 market scenarios)?
  • What are the best practices and initiatives to be implemented in the short term by the different stakeholders?

This white paper was constructed using various data and resources:

  • more than 250 interactions with European public and private decision-makers (individual interviews and web survey),
  • interviews with Cloud and Data experts, including those from the Talan group,
  • market research and public documents
