Could you introduce your career path?

Originally from Morocco, I moved to Evry - France to continue my studies after graduating with a master’s degree in computer sciences from the University Mohammed V - Faculty of sciences of Rabat.

Passionate about engineering, I joined the ENSIIE Evry (National School of Computing for Industry and Business) and graduated with an Engineering Diploma in computer sciences.

Subsequently I started my professional career as a Web developer in a big telecommunications company. At that time, I was responsible of designing and developing applications for corporate clients, across various industries.

After 2 years in this company, I decided to join a management consulting firm specialized in the Financial Services industry. My goal was to work in a Trading floor and be part of the Front Office trading division of an Investment Bank.

I joined a big Investment Banking company as a consultant. My main mission was to support the various Trading and Risk teams by providing them with risk indicators and market data for hedging purposes.

After 3 years, I decided to move to the United States and join Talan US to begin a new journey abroad and take on ambitious new challenges…

What are the different projects/initiatives you are currently working on?

I am currently working in a Quant team at a major global investment banking, securities, and investment management firm in the United States.

The main objective of the team is to build an underwriting model that qualifies the solvency of Small and Medium Size Enterprise (SME).

My daily tasks mainly focus on performing data analysis on various credit bureaus, to meet the bank's risk and management requirements, as well as designing and building the loan decision workflow.

This project will tremendously help American SMEs to develop and extend their businesses, while having a positive impact on the growth of the American economy.

3 words to introduce Talan?

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging: Talan knows that recruiting with diverse backgrounds and perspectives is not only crucial for employee wellbeing, but also good for business. We are committed to cultivating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture where our people feel valued and supported.

At Talan, what is your playfield? How do you manage to explore it?

Sharing experience and networking. As a new joiner, I am always delighted not only by the skills of my colleagues, but also by their stories, especially the ones who decided to leave their home country, family, and friends to settle in the US, starting from scratch with the will to fulfill their dreams.

The connection with others allows me to enrich my knowledge about different aspects of business consulting. It also allows me to grow culturally and emotionally because many consultants come from different backgrounds.

Besides that, I participate in Talan's meetups and feel very happy to share my professional and personal experience.

I am also involved in the recruitment process. It is always a pleasure to contribute to the expansion of Talan’s footprints in North America.

Could you describe a strong memory since you have joined Talan?

A delightful memory was when I first landed in New York and met Talan's managers and recruiters in the office.

It was a moment full of gratitude and joy to finally meet in person the people who were working on my application and doing their best so that my move to the United States go smoothly.

Another enjoyable moment was during the annual Talan party in New York. It was a great opportunity to meet with all the colleagues in person and share fun times together.

Which person inspires you the most?

Karim Benzema. The best striker/forward player in the world. He started small at Olympique Lyonnais, through hard work and dedication he rose to the top, playing with the best football players in Real Madrid, until he became the leader of this club.

That’s exactly how I see my career, I started small and continued to learn from people who were better than me, I never missed my goal of always working with the best in their field.

I believe working with the best will make anyone the best one day if there is hard work, dedication and above all humility.

Who would you like to work with?

I’ve always been fascinated by people who turn their brilliant idea into a successful business.  I can name a lot of people I would love to work with, but Elon Musk is best person I would work with and learn from.

With his astonishing idea of multiplanetary species, his deep desire to reach the red planet Mars, and more, it’s just the kind of project I really enjoy working on, the kind of project that comes from brilliant ideas, that no one has thought of before, something that is designed from scratch.
